Course Description

This course will cover the basics of Moodle and more. Topics that will be addressed during this workshop are:


Types of courses: Master Courses vs. Teaching Courses
Basic interface: Navigation, Customization, and Block Docking
Course Preferences System: Creation and enrollment, splitting courses, cross-listing, team-teaching, master courses, unwanted courses
Transfer course materials: Restore course, and import content from a previous course; selective import
Student enrollment: Roster, drop/add tracking
Assign roles: Enrolling TAs and additional instructors
Course settings: Course format, availability
Adding course resources: Files, folder (of files), lables, webpages, URLs
Creating activities: Attendance, student assignments submissions, forums, quizzes
Completion tracking & access control
Communication with students: E-mail, news forum


Participants will also learn where and how to get help: GROK, help desk, and the Faculty Technology Center.
