Keynote: The Power of Academic Storytelling
Faculty members publish thousands of research articles each year. These articles are written to have an impact on the academic community and to be cited by others. By communicating one’s research through the power of academic storytelling, the visibility of your research increases. This keynote lecture explores the logic of narrative craft and adapting it to one’s academic work.
Workshop: Crafting Your Research Narrative
Participants break into small groups and implement academic storytelling to communicate their research. Faculty members are encouraged to bring a title and abstract (summary) of their current research from either a manuscript or grant. The title (115 character limit including spaces) and abstract/summary (250 words or less) will serve as the basis for small group discussion with colleagues.
