VoiceThread is a powerful solution for creating interactive student portfolios. From kindergarten to grad school, biology to literature, assessment to showcase, portfolios add a connective thread to students’ learning experiences. They track progress and make the learning process tangible and accessible.
VoiceThread doesn’t just allow students to showcase all of their papers, videos, art, exams, and projects in one location. It also lets them record comments to narrate their work, and it empowers them to invite feedback from other people. Begin with a project you would already have your students do, and just use VoiceThread to expand it.
Self-evaluation: Let students select their favorite work from the year and explain why they thought it was valuable.
Tracking progress: Have students track their progress on a project by documenting versions of their work at various stages.
Formative assessment: Collect student work over a specific period of time and explain to the student how his or her work has improved
