This course is open for all students, graduate teaching assistants and faculty. Dr. Marybeth Lima will introduce  participants to service-learning, a method in which students meet their learning objectives by working with a community partner to address a critical community need. Topics include models and examples of service-learning, best practices and recommendations, and a brief discussion on how participants might integrate this pedagogy into the classes that they teach.
