Course Description

Prerequisite: Must have attended the TurningPoint beginner course(s).

Description: Gamification is a hot topic in education as a way to engage and motivate students to want to learn. In this workshop, you will provide you with a basic understanding of gamification, how it can be utilized in the classroom and the benefits of using gamification to enhance classroom instruction. Attendees will walk away with gamification tools that can be used in the face to face and online classroom. 

Topics covered include:

  • Benefits of Gamification in the Classroom including Best Practices
  • Pre-made options
    • TurningPoint (LSU supported student response system)
      • Competition slides using exisiting slides
      • Who Wants to be a Zillionaire
    • Quiznetic
  • On the Spot options
    • Excel
      • Deal or No Deal
  • Creation Time (please bring content questions with you in order to create a game)
  • Q & A
