Course Description

Note: This workshop is aimed for faculty who will be utilizing a hybrid/blended instruction model in the fall and spring sub-sessions at the LSU A&M campus; however, all faculty and graduate teaching assistants are welcome to register and attend.

The workshop will guide faculty in developing a course that combines the best of face-to-face and online learning. In this workshop, we will discuss the basic principles of designing a blended course, including strategies for selecting appropriate activities suited to each modality and integrating them in creating a cohesive learning experience. By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Apply characteristics of blended learning to develop your course
  • Select assessments, learning objectives, and instructional strategies for blended learning
  • Construct a blended learning plan to facilitate student engagement and success

In preparation for the workshop, please be sure to watch the following video:

Note: This is not a Moodle "how-to" workshop. A recommended pre-requisite is to attend the Faculty Technology Center's Moodle 3.7 Introductory Topics workshop, or to have a working knowledge of Moodle. For Moodle or technology-related questions, contact the FTC (ftc@lsu.edu; 578-3375, option 2).

Important: This workshop will run contingent on the enrollment of five or more registrants. If a quorum of 5 hasn’t been established by 2 days prior to the session, we will cancel the workshop and notify registrants.
