Strategic sourcing is a procurement method which uses statistical data from previous purchasing patterns and leverages the product categories and spend information into a single, or multiple, contract(s) which give the best overall value to the University. The strategic sourcing 101 learning session will focus on what strategic sourcing is, what it is not, how to gather commodity information and understand the potential for strategic sourcing activities, and how to establish commodity stakeholders within your organization to meet, discuss, determine key elements for strategic sourcing activities, and agree of the decisions made in the best interest of the organization, not their department alone.
