Note: This workshop is aimed for faculty who will be starting one-to-one course development cycle for LSU Online (courses that are for fully online programs offered through LSU Online) at the LSU A&M campus; however, all faculty and graduate teaching assistants are welcome to register and attend.
Alignment is the intentional connection between course outcomes, learning objectives, assessments, activities, and materials. Course alignment builds a strong cohesive framework, helps ensure that both you and your students have accurate expectations about what will be taught in your course, and that students are practicing and demonstrating the skills you want them to learn. Join us for this interactive workshop where we will guide you through designing or refining course outcomes and learning objectives and aligning them with assessments, activities, and materials.
Prior to attending the workshop, please watch the following Learn & Geaux video to get a preliminary overview of what will be covered in the workshop: Alignment (Length: 3:17).
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Write clear, observable, and student-centered course outcomes
- Deconstruct an outcome into measurable and specific module learning objectives
- Align assessments to outcomes and objectives
- Identify career-relevant skills that students could develop through your course
Workshop length: 1.5 hours
For faculty/staff outside of LSU A&M: To register, please use your @lsu.edu credentials (i.e., the credentials you use when you log into myLSU), not your campus email address.
