Designing and Teaching Accessible Courses (Fully Online Course) Feb 15th - Mar 12th

This fully online asynchronous course will introduce you to the core concepts of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and the laws and standards of accessibility in higher education. We will explore the common barriers that students with disabilities may face in accessing course content, and how to use resources within Moodle to overcome those accessibility issues. This course aims to equip faculty with the basic guidelines and tools for making course content accessible and universal.

Special Focus Program: Online Course Design & Development

The Special Focus Program is an intensive 12-week program designed to guide faculty through the development, or re-development of an online course that is fully aligned, meets accessibility standards, and ensures a consistent and positive learning experience for students. Participants will have the opportunity to: 1) discuss and learn with peers, 2) receive guidance from a Learning Experience Designer (LXD), and 3) engage in hands-on course design and development experiences.
