The changing workforce needs require an intentional integration of content knowledge and skill development as students proceed through their degree programs. Research shows that hiring managers struggle to find employees with in-demand skills, and only a third of post-secondary students in the US believe they will graduate with the competencies needed for career success. In this workshop, we will discuss how integrating career skills into courses helps students identify, practice, and communicate their skills to employers.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Discuss the changing needs of today’s workforce needs
- Identify the hard and soft skills that you can build into your course content and activities
- Advise students on how they can communicate their employable skills
Important: This workshop will run contingent on the enrollment of five or more registrants. If a quorum of 5 hasn’t been established by 2 days prior to the session, we will cancel the workshop and notify registrants.
Important: For faculty/staff outside of LSU A&M: To register, please use your @lsu.edu credentials (i.e., the credentials you use when you log into myLSU, not your campus email address).
